The upside-down pink triangle has been a symbol of various LGBTQ identities, initially intended as a badge of shame, it was later reclaimed as a positive symbol of self-identity. It began as in if the Nazi concentration camp badges, that distinguished those imprisoned because they had been identified as “homosexual men”, a category that included bisexual men and transgender women.
Since the 1970’s we’ve used the upside-down triangle as a symbol of protest against homophobia.
